Oh my, it's been like one month plus since i've visit Bangkok but now only i'm able to blog about it. So sorry for the laziness :( I actually planned to go to Hong Kong at first but the hotel over there is kinda expensive so we've changed to Bangkok since my mum wanted to go there so badly. On the 18th March 2014 off i went to Bangkok.
As usual, i took Airasia to Bangkok.
After 2 hours, i've finally arrived Bangkok. I was kinda disappointed with Don Mueang Airport (not because the airport), is just that this is not really an international airport. Somehow it's like LCCT over here but Don Mueang Airport is so much nicer compare to LCCT.
Went to the taxi counter just in case we won't get conned and my mum's friend's husband ask us too. We took the taxi to Pratunam where our hotel is. The whole ride costed only 400baht which is only RM40! :O It's like twice & thrice cheaper than here! Last time i took the morning taxi from my house to LCCT and it costed me RM120 -_-
The hotel i choose is basically heaven for my mum (i think so) because it is located super near to Platinum Mall! Like less than 5 minutes you can reach. The hotel i stayed at is called The 93 Hotel. On the way to Platinum Mall, there's a hallway and there are people selling clothes! Clothes there are slightly cheaper than Platinum Mall but the choices and patterns are lesser.
This room is big and it's very comfortable to stay.
First meal of the day. Tomyam noodle! I was so surprise that tomyam in Thailand taste so much different than the tomyam in Malaysia. In Thailand, tomyam taste less spicy and less sour.
Platinum Mall is like Kenanga Wholesale Mall in KL but with more variety. Platinum Mall closes very early! Like 7PM something, most of the shops are already close! We was so surprise because in KL where got shops closes so early.
Since most of the shops closes, we walked back to our hotel, There's a small road besides our hotel that sells food like a mini night market. We came across this stall that sells tomyang gung. You can eat it with rice or noodle and obviously we choose noodle.
This is the most expensive tomyam i've ever eat. One bowl costs us 160baht (RM16)! We ordered 3 at first but after seeing him cooked, we reduced to two packet because the portion for one packet is big! Fried chicken wing 90 baht (RM9) for 7 pieces! Super yummy.
Day 2 - My plan for this day is to go to Siam Paragon to find Naraya bag, it's a bag that made in Thailand. Siam Paragon is such a nice place but that place are only affordable for rich people :( all the branded are over there. Siam Paragon is actually very near to our hotel. Can reach there by walk or taxi. I had a very bad experience with their tuk tuk on this day. Nightmare -_-
For those who wanna walk by saving money, here is my experience. From Platinum Mall entrance, go straight until there is no road, follow the curve and walk upstairs. You will see Central One or Central World (i forgot the exact name) on your left. Go inside the mall and find for the sky brigde (you can ask the people over there or information counter). Follow the sky bridge. Walk for maybe 5 minutes, you can see Siam BTS Station and there is Siam Paragon! ^^
Busy city in Thailand.
Brunch at Siam Paragon.
Super cute Coke.
Nom~ nom~
MBK is also a few minutes walk from Siam Paragon. This place is like Sungai Wang + Times Square. Doesn't really like this place.
Dinner at hotel's restaurant. Surprisingly their food tastes good!
Day 3 - The third day we basically just walk around the place where we stay. Shop at the hallway because we've never did that before. And also had dinner at a place besides Platinum Mall area where the owner is a Chinese!
Day 4 - We actually had no where to go so my mum's friend's husband suggest us to go to Chinatown. We took taxi to there and it's quite cheap only. Taxi is much more convenient than train in Bangkok. But to be sure you ask them to meter it. Reach Chinatown and walked around then we found one restaurant sells gooses & ducks and we had our brunch there.
Feel so old school.
Goose meat on top & duck meat at the bottom. They actually tastes the same.
Passed by this super awesome temple. Thailand people are majority Buddhist so there are few famous temples over there.
Bought tickets to visit the exhibition and the Golden Buddha. The exhibition basically shows how Chinatown was founded and they developed it into a modern place.
With the King of Thailand.
This shows how they bring the Golden Buddha and how they put it in the temple.
We were asked to 'rent' this cloth to cover ourself because all 3 of us wore shorts. They are so pro in earning tourists money.
Day 5 - Last day in Bangkok. We were consider lucky because on the last day it only decided to rain. Thank God it only rain on the day we decided to go home. Anyway, Bangkok is fun. Heaven for those who love shopping (like my mum) but for me is so so. I didn't get to buy a lot of clothes but shorts yes. I think i bought like 5 pairs of shorts? All high-waist and it's cheap! :D
Hope to be back soon Bangkok x.x
